The
Friendship Bench
Maths Day
The
Friendship Bench.
A recent
accomplishment of the Schools' Council was to
introduce a 'Friendship Bench'. If a child
has no-one
to play with, or are just feeling sad, they
can sit there, and this alerts others to
offer support to that person. The
School Council decided to have this area
made more appealing, and so organised a
competition for all children to produce a
design for the new bench. The winner
of the competition was: Emma Gunning
This is the finished result, kindly painted
by Mrs Kay Chaston.


Maths Day
The school council
thought it would be a good idea to have a
whole day dedicated to 'Math's'. They
wrote a letter to Ms Garton, asking her if
she could co-ordinate the day, and gave her
a list of the activities that would like to
be included. These included a 'Math's
Hat' competition, Number treasure hunt,
and many more activities in the classrooms.
The day took place on Friday 17th April, and
was very successful. Here are some of
the photos of the math's hats:
